Lislagan Primary School Commission

These two murals were painted on either side of the entrance porch to Lislagan Primary School and, for me, represent the school's ethos. The first painting looks chaotic: a flurry of colour and movement and energy as the children progress through the school. In the second, we can see that the children's individuality has developed with the teachers' encouragement and that they are ready to move on to the next stage in their lives with confidence.

This has been the largest project that I've undertaken so far and a very enjoyable one.  As the paintings were completed in situ, I had the privilege of listening to the children's comments and answering their questions as I worked.  Hopefully, this will be the first of many such projects in schools.
